HOME FARM HORTICULTURAL THERAPY CERTIFICATE OVERVIEW

When I first started providing educational opportunities in HT, I worked for Providence Farm, responding to the many phone calls and emails looking for HT education. We responded at the time, offering the very first HT Certificate in Canada in 1998. My intent was to get education started, always encouraging my students to one day provide education themselves as I will not always be an instructor. Canada now has 5 HT Certificates, 3 offered by former students.

Since 1995 I have been working closely with Vancouver Island University (formally Malaspina University College) to establish the first and still the only formal educational opportunity in HT. So I am satisfied that there is now more opportunity for HT education than ever before.

Home Farm will no longer be instructing a Horticultural Therapy Certificate. However we will be offering a variety of horticultural therapy related educational opportunities in the future. I will continue to be supportive of my associate Emma in this endeavor.
