HORTICULTURAL THERAPY WITH CHRISTINE POLLARD

Horticultural Therapist, Home Farm, Cowichan Valley

This website has been created in response to the overwhelming interest in Horticultural Therapy (HT). I receive new inquiries every week from people all over the world wanting to know more:
  • What is Horticultural Therapy?
  • Who can benefit from it?
  • How it is used?
  • Where it is used?
  • How can I become a Horticultural Therapist?
  • What education is needed?
  • What are the employment opportunities?
I have some of the answers from my more than 20 years' experience in the field. For those answers I don't have, I can connect people with others who may be able to help. For these reasons, consider this website a resource for your own Horticultural Therapy career.

Our connection with the ground is an inherent part of who we are. My garden is my foundation from which the other parts of my life emanate. It provides me with my physical, emotional, cognitive, nutritional and spiritual wellbeing.

My work with CUSO, with people participating at Providence Farm, with the Jubilee Community Garden Society and the Vancouver Island Health Authority demonstrates how our connection with our natural surroundings can reconnect us with our community and ourselves. I hope that, in looking around this site, you will find something that will connect you with Horticultural Therapy.
